Giving In To Michael Jackson..

Just like MJ's song title "Give In To Me", I have truly did give in to Michael Jackson's music eversince a little kid...being a child of the 80's, who could escape his music, especially when it was at the time he was at the peak of his career.

I had always been a fan of MJ. ..Of course being a kid back then, i never knew he was THAT awesome. Of course, i only knew THAT big of an entertainer when I was about 10. Especially when you have one classmate that is an even bigger fan of MJ. Hahaha...i still remember how he'd try to moonwalk and grab his crotch, and since we were still young and VERY innocent, we didn't think much about the crotch grabbing.... :p yes...we were really THAT innocent minded kids then..

i simply just loved his songs and i remember very clearly that it was his "Dangerous" album that kept me company during my week's stay at a hospital when i was about 11 years old. And I still remember that I could just listen to "Give In To Me", "Black or White" and "Will You Be There" over and over again. And believe or not, that was the only album I ever wanted to listen to and I never got sick/bored hearing those same songs over and over again. Even after my stay at the hospital, i would only listen to his "Dangerous" album....

16 years later, and i'm still can't get enough of "Give In To Me"...i dunno why...an inner sexual feeling in me is just waiting to burst out? Nah...can't be...it simply has to be MJ's awesomeness that i'm overwhelmed with. He truly is The One and Only...no one can ever come close to being as great as Michael Jackson.

I still can't believe that he's gone. I somehow thought that we'd still be able to see him do his moonwalk when he's 80!! But although he has gone to a better place, his music and legacy will forever be in our hearts...we miss u MJ...

MDG 2: The Red Bull Challenge

The challenge this time round is called “Red Bull Challenge”. The girls were basically asked to potray "energy" in their photos. Here's my take on the photos...

Trampoline - Juanita & Dawn
I kinda think Dawn’s pose was more relevant for the “trampoline” shot. You could at least tell that she just leapt off a trampoline!! She looks so flexible here and at ease....me like!!

Whereas Juanita’s shot was more suitable for the body combat shot if you ask me. Yeah, sure both her legs were in the air, but it just didn’t go with the trampoline shot if you ask me.

Pinky seemed to be goofing around during her takes. I couldn’t help but LOL at her moves, konon-nyer lah “killer look” but I think if faced with her, I wouldn’t be shaking with fear, I’d be ROFL instead!! XD .

Ok ok, blame the production crew for their pick of background music and that “ting-a-ling-a-ling” sound effect!! :p To me her face says more like “I keel you all!!” and somehow that pose kinda reminded me of a praying mantis…haha…I’m mean :p

Pinky - Body Combat Shot

Now Ming, THAT is what you call “killer” look!! Her facial expression and body movement potrays “You dare to mess with me??!!!”. Don’t mess with this Tai Ka Jie I tell you, you’d be asking for trouble! Just look at that face!! She is ready to kick some serious @$$ there!!

Yoga - Natasha
Hhhhmmmmm….if you ask me, I don’t think yoga pose was as easy as it sounded. I wouldn’t know how to pose with “energy” for a yoga pose. I think the yoga shot is more difficult compared to the trampoline and body combat shots. Natasha’s photo here does come across as lifeless and bland here. Heck, I don’t even sense tranquillity in this pix!!

At the end of the day, the 2 girls with the best shots were Ming and Juanita. But there can only be ONE winner, so a re-match was called upon. So Ming and Juanita were to swap roles. And with that, swap places they did and I think Ming nailed this one!! Unlike Juanita who used the same style for her shots, Ming at least used some variety.

See what I mean? For both trampoline and body combat shot, Juanita still used that “fighter” look whereas Ming had that care-free look for the trampoline shot and the killer look in the body combat shot. Kudos to her!!

On a side note, I almost cried when it seemed that she was going to be eliminated this week. Thank goodness it was a pre-determined non-elimination week this week. Phew!! I definitely think that she is Top 3 material!! I'm liking Ming now too!!

Drama and Tension in the House!!

The girls were asked to memorize some lines for the HP advert and I’ve gotta say, Natasha totally nailed the HP advert challenge, she totally deserved to have won it. The other girl that made me LOL was Shasya’s blooper!! Somehow it reminds me of a scene from Godzilla!! :p

Then when Elaine said that she could bring along 2 friends for the “Go See with Andrew”, I was really shocked that Natasha had chosen Juanita as one of the people that she could bring along. Little that I know that the challenge took place before her confrontation with Ming and Juanita!! LOL…did you notice Elaine’s face when Natasha said she wanted to take Elaine along? It's like she's looking at the producer and saying to him, "Does Tasha knows what she's doing by choosing Juanita??"

I guess after Ming and gang had warned Natasha about Juanita’s “other side”, Natasha smartened up and took heed of their advice. And when Natasha told Juanita that she’s not going to bring her for obvious reasons, another argument took place and Pinky and Shasya got involved as well. That was when Juanita kept changing her story. First she said she was only helping Pinky to find the correct word (which was “exaggerating”), then she said she didn’t say that but she had agreed with Pinky that Natasha may have been exaggerating her condition. One thing led to another and before we knew it, a heated argument took its turn and when Juanita was left with nothing else to say, she chose to blackmail Natasha!!!

I’m beginning to dislike Juanita now. For those of you who said that Natasha probably shut up coz she was probably guilty of something, I just wanna say, if you were in Natasha’s shoes, wouldn’t you have backed off as well? Juanita already has the capability of twisting and turning a story, heaven knows if she’ll turn the story around against Natasha. I may be wrong here, but it’s just my opinion. I think because of this, no one in the house would want to associate themselves with Juanita. Who knows what she's up to next??!! Could she be the next Tey Cindy of MDG 1? Time will tell..

On the other hand, I'm beginning to like Natasha now. She may be small but man, she kicks @$$!! As they say "kecik kecik cili padi". I have to say, at least she doesn't listen to one side of the story. She's bold enough to confront the girls when she's unhappy with something and is willing to listen to both sides of the story. And her mouth and eyes??!! Man, are they sharp!! Really, though she's like a decade younger than I am, I'd think twice about messing around with her!!

The confrontation with Ming

If I were you, I wouldn’t be so trusting to the girls in the house, especially Juanita. It seems that her true colours may now be showing. Although Juanita may have acted out of concern for Natasha’s health, but she may be using Natasha to cause more catfights in the house.

Juanita kept pushing the blame to Ming. How come Ming became Juanita’s target? Perhaps Juanita’s family members or friends had told her about Ming and Natasha’s earlier spat. So with that severed tie between them, it’s only understandable that Ming would be a much easier target compared to the other girls.

She even had the nerve that she “counter-checked” with Denezia about Ming’s statement. But when Denezia was called in, well, things then took a turn. It wasn’t Ming who said that but it seems that it was Farah who said those things. The only “story” that remained the same was that Juanita had in fact asked behind Natasha’s back “is Natasha loaded?”.
It’s pretty obvious from here that it was Juanita who triggered the conversation and then went backstabbing the girls. Even Natasha herself didn’t seem to satisfied as to why Juanita would even think of asking such a question in the first place…

I actually pity Farah here. Since she was already eliminated from the show by then, she couldn’t be there to defend for herself. There’s always 2 sides to a story and I’m sure Farah would have something to say in this had she been there.

The talk between Pinky, Dawn and Ming

After clearing up the air, Pinky and Dawn then asked Ming what went on. After Ming told them the story, Juanita’s true colours began to show even more. I actually like Dawn here, she’s so cute when she’s blur!! XD Pinky said that behind Natasha’s back, Juanita had said that Natasha was only exaggerating her medical condition and all this while she was pretending to be so concerned and trying to get all close with Natasha. So being “caring” girls, they called Natasha to warn her about Juanita’s character….but if I were in Natasha’s shoes, I don’t think I can trust anyone…

Why?
1) Ming was an easy target because she had a spat with Natasha earlier in the show.
2) Obviously Denezia would have sided with Ming eventually as they seem to be quite close and besides, Denezia and Juanita themselves had an argument before. So much so that a piece of furniture broke!!
3) Pinky and Ming would obviously side with Ming since they are room-mates.
4) Juanita’s statements seem to contradict…she insisted that Ming was the one who said that Natasha paid off the hospital just to get away from the show for a while but in the end, it was supposedly Farah who said that.

Sigh, really Natasha…you shouldn’t be to gullible and naïve. Just be sure to not believe every word that Juanita says. There’s always 2 sides to the story…

MDG 2 - Round 3 Elimination

Wow, once the elimination rounds had started, it seems that the girls are all leaving all too soon now….. :p This week, in the bottom 3, we have Pinky, Farah and Denezia with the lowest votes.

Before commenting on the girls' performance over the week, Elaine gave these a girls a good "telling off" for being 1/2 hearted at being in the show as all that they ever complained about was to wanting to go home. Elaine has a point there girls!! STOP COMPLAINING!!

It may very well be that Pinky will be getting her wish this week. In the last episode, Pinky was complaining and whining to her boyfriend that she wanted to go home and that she’s not happy at all being in the Dream house. She then asked him to not vote for her coz he’d only be wasting her money. Although her boyfriend tried to convince her to still stay on in the show, she kept telling him to not vote for her, so maybe the audience are really giving her what she wants?

But then, we have Farah in the bottom 3 AGAIN!!! I don’t know, Elaine says that she’s pretty, she’s got everything going for her, bla bla bla but I don’t quite agree with her. Looks perhaps but figure wise?? Most certainly not. Farah is pear shaped I guess, so she definitely would not be someone you would want to use to model your stuff or walk on the catwalk.

As for Denezia, could it be because the audience just finds her annoying? After all, she was voted the most annoying amongst all the girls in a poll done on their website.

So who was sent home this week? Well, it could be none other than the girl who was in the bottom 3 for 3 weeks in a row - Farah!!

It came to no surprise to me but I don't quite understand why Elaine is rooting for her. First reason being that, despite the fact that she is pretty (provided she doesn't start showing "faces"), she still does not have the figure fit for a runway model. I think she could be categorized as being pear-shaped? Secondly, well, she has been in the bottom 3 for 3 weeks in a row!!! Need I say more? When asked how she felt about her elimination, she could only say that she definitely saw this coming and perhaps she may not have that many supporters out there...

Well, that's that. Now, next week is going to be really tough on the girls as Elaine told them that due to their performance and the viewers feedback, 2 girls will be sent home!! Eeeekkksss!!

MDG2: Jinxed Challenges

The 3rd elimination is just in a few days time....who will it be this time? Could it be Juanita?

There seems to be a pattern as to whom will be the next one to be eliminated from the competition. And that pattern is, the girl who wins the challenge for that particular week, will be the same one eliminated for the next elimination round!!

Challenge No. 1 - Elaine's workshop

Take for example the first challenge which was from Elaine's workshop. Each girl was simply asked to pose in their on way for the camera. Pose in their on way those girls did and in the end it was Acha who won the challenge.

Then came first elimination round, 2 girls were sent home. Acha was one of them, while the other was Maya. It came as a surprise for many coz IMO, I don't think Acha was one of the weakest there. Such a pity really that she had to leave before she could even shine. She really did want this. I hope that she won't just stop here but would continue to pursue her dreams on her own elsewhere....

The second challenge was the Beautilicious workshop. The girls were asked to split into 3 groups, and each group were given the task of either doing the "Retro Look", "Glamorous Night Look" or the "Smokey Eye Look". After Julie(founder of Beautilicious) gave her 2 cents of each of the girls, she announced the Liana was the winner for this challenge....

Challenge No. 2 - Beautilicous Workshop

Before we knew it, it was already time for the second elimination. And Liana was the one with the lowest votes for the week. Sigh, she should have left last week on the grounds that she smuggled in a phone when it was already stated very clearly in the contract that no phones were allowed during their entire stay in the competition.

So could winning the challenges this season mean the end of the girls' chances of being the next Dreamgirl? Well, we'll wait and see who will win the 3rd challenge and find out if she's the next one to be eliminated from the show....

Denezia and Nadia

Elimination rounds has already started now. Who will be the last girl standing? Could it be Denezia???

So last season, we had Nadia. She was said to have an attitude problem, being over-confident, a show-off and also a female canine (for a want of a nicer sounding word). This season, we have Denezia. Though Denezia may not be cocky, have an attitude problem or a show-off, she still does have some sort of similiarity with Nadia.

The similiraties:-

1) They are both said to take "fierce" looking photos at times
2) They readily said out loud that they did not like some of the other girls in the house. For Nadia, at first she said she didn't quite like Ringo, then after a while, she said that she just couldn't get along with Cindy because of her attitude. On the other hand, Denezia, specifically said that she would like to see the LFN girls to be eliminated soon. The LFN girls are none other than Liana, Farah and Natasha. According to her, she just can't stand them, though she never mentioned what they did that irked her so much...

On a side note, I think Denezia really needs to loose that baby fat that she has. For the time being, she better know which camera angle suits her the best, so that that baby fat is not that obvious in the photos.

MDG 2 - Round 2 Elimination

It seemed like only yesterday that Acha and Maya got eliminated from the competition. And today, another girl will be sent back home. You can view the Round 2 Elimination on Episode 9 - Part 5.

So the 3 girls with the lowest votes this week were Shasya, Farah(again??!!) and Liana. And the girl that got sent home is *drum roll*

LIANA!!!!!

Why oh why did she get eliminated now? She should have been eliminated last week, and perhaps Acha could still have been in the show now! I'm still upset that Acha was sent home instead from her.

Yea, i know I shouldn't hold grudges against Liana but she broke the contract and they let her off quite easily???!! The "punishment" she got for smuggling in a handphone was totally unfair to the rest of the girls. Just because SHE smuggled in a handphone, ALL the other girls weren't allowed to call back home for an entire week!!! Most importantly, it was stated in the contract that no phones were allowed during their stay in the competition!!!! If you ask me, they should have been harsher by eliminating her that very week instead of punishing the girls for her wrong-doing.

Hhhhhmm....which makes me wonder, since she was a ex-flight attendant, did she make use of her handphone when she isn't supposed to? Makes me wonder...

And if that's not bad enough, after she was sent home, she didn't seem to be upset the slightest bit that she got home!! She simply said that she was relieved that she got sent home and that she could go home to see her loved ones sooner. It's so unfair!! You could see that she didn't really mind if she was in or out but Acha really wanted this!! Sigh, as they say, life's unfair!!

Pinky and Ringo

This time around, let's bring on the cutesy-cutesy girls on!! That could only be.....Pinky and Ringo!! But as usual, a quick recap on the girls that I have commented on so far....

Ok ok...back to Pinky and Ringo. What can I say about their similarites?? Hhhhmmmm....

Season 1 - Ringo aka "Cheesie"

The similarities:

1) They have "one-of-a-kind" first names. I mean, how many people do you know that goes by the name Ringo or Pinky? Not that many I bet, at least in this country :p

2) These 2 girls come across as the cutesy cutesy, bubbly personality kind of girls

3) They love the colour pink!! Ringo has a blog and it is pink and she makes no denial that she loves pink. As for Pinky, well, the only reason I could think of is that, well, that is why she named herself Pinky.... XD yeah...i'm lame....whatever.. :p

I would say Pinky has 1 advantage that the other girls don't have and that is make-up skills. Being a make-up artist, she of all people should know what she is doing with all the brushes and blending of colours and all that. But I don't know if it was wise of her to say that she wants out of the competition by asking her boyfriend to not vote for her. She says that she is unhappy with where she is now. I guess the stress and drama in the house is getting more intense now.

Eeeerrrmmmmm, Pinky is not exactly one of my favourites coz she still comes across as being a bit childish to me and her command of English is not strong either. Don't get me wrong but she speaks like your Ah Lian next door..... :(

Juanita and Alison

Alrighty, it's that time again to see which girl in MDG 2 reminds me of the girls in MDG1..

This time around, we're gonna do Juanita and Alison!!

Season 1 - Alison

Season 2 - Juanita

Unlike Alison from Season 1, Juanita here has got everything going for her. She's got the sharp features. She's got good body proportions. She has a good sense in fashion!! The only thing Alison had going on for her was her personality. I hope that she could make it to the Top 3!!

The similarities:-
1) Juanita is the only girl in the show whose is fluent in English. By far, she's the most eloquent and articulate among the other girls. If you can recall, correctly, in Season 1, only Jay and Alison were speaking proper English.

2) They've both got amazing personalities and confidence. Having said that, Juanita also take on on being a DJ or even a tv host. FYI, Alison was offered a job with RedFM, so maybe FlyFM might do the same for Juanita?

3) They both are not afraid to speak their minds. If they have to say something, they would definitely voice it out. Of course, whether it sounded bitchy or not, well, that's a different story altogether...

Natasha and Hanis

The similarities:-

1) The both of them are the judge's favourite, or at least Elaine's favourite.

2) Top 3 material

3) The manja ones and close to their mums

4) They are cat lovers - Hanis has quite a few cats at home and Natasha took in a stray cat into the Dreamhouse

As we all know, Hanis was obviously Elaine's favourite and clearly the public loved Hanis to bits. But I don't think Natasha could win the hearts of the public that easily as Hanis did since she started off with a bad note when she fought with Ming over some blog entry that Ming supposedly wrote.

I don't know about you but I think Natasha simply misunderstood when her family members said that Ming was talking bad about her. Coz the thing is Ming did not say anything about Natasha directly. Ming had merely blogged about her frustration about the other girls being selfish with the mirror. Although Natasha is one of those "other girls", the thing is that Ming had never specifically talked bad about Natasha.

And the part I simply had to LOL was when Natasha said something about their argument being pointless. Yeah, she is right!! It is her, Natasha, that is making a pointless argument. At the end of their argument, my expression was like o.O?

MDG 2 - Round 1 Elimination

So soon, and already 3 girl were to be eliminated for the 1st round. And the girls that were sent home were Acha and Maya.

To tell you the truth, I'm truly disappointed when Acha was the one who had to go home. I don't think that she was one of the weakest around. I was actually rooting for her to make it a little bit more further in the competition.

As I said, she may not have the best photoshoot at the end of the day, but still it was better than some of the other girls' photos.

Who should have been eliminated instead? Well, let's take a look at the other 5 girls whom were called out to the "hot seat". We had Denezia, Maya, Liana, Juanita and Farah. Now, let's forget about Maya since she got eliminated anyway. Not that I'm saying she deserved to be eliminated, it's just that I can't find any reason to back her up. Besides, Elaine did say that Maya had a time management issue and as a model, that is a BIG NO NO!!

As for Juanita, as I said in my earlier post, I'm hoping for her to make it to the top 3. So yea, Juanita deserves another shot to prove the audience that she could just be the next Malaysian Dreamgirl!!

Actually, when they mentioned Liana's name, I was really hoping that she would be eliminated automatically. I mean, come on!! She had the guts to smuggle in a handphone/mobile phone/cell phone when it was specifically stated in the contract that no phones were allowed throughout the entire duration of their stay in the show. And if that's not bad enough, she even had the nerve to say that "So what? I only did it for safety reasons". But apparently, the crew still wants to be lenient with her. It's so unfair!! I'd rather see her go than Acha!!!!!

Then there was lucky Farah. She was that close to being eliminated, but because Rajvin had pulled out from the show, she was "saved". But for someone who was "that" close to being eliminated, she didn't seem to happy about it...

See what I mean? That was the face she had after Elaine had annouced that she's been given another chance. I mean, I'm not expecting her to cry tears of joy or jump up and down in excitement, but I don't know honestly. Alright! Fine! I'd give her the benefit of the doubt that she was in shock. Thus explaining the expression she had on her face...

Farah and Fiqa

Today, we're gonna look at Farah and Fiqa.

Season1 - Fiqa

To be honest, Farah was also not one of my favourites either. OK! OK!! So I don't quite like this season's girls as compared to Season 1's girls. I'm tad bit disappointed with the judges' choices for selecting the girls. In my opinion, Kenny Sia probably did a favour to the show last year by bringing in a few hot chicks into the show. Though he may not have behaved as matured or professional as he should have been, but it was because of him, quite a few hot chicks were actually choosen for the top 12 of Season 1. Ooooppsss...going OTT...back to Fiqa and Farah

The similarities:-
1) Only 1 thing comes to my mind at the mention of Farah or Fiqa's name......SNOBBISH!! I mean, they may not be snobbish, personality wise but their faces somehow depicts that they just are like that.

2) They got "emo" over small matters. Take Fiqa, she was getting all worked up about the whole shoe issue with Cindy. Farah on the other hand, cried and got all upset coz she had to chop off her long locks. I mean, I would totally understand why 1 could get upset if asked to shave bald but just to chop if off?? Come on, girl, the hair would grow back eventually. And she didn;t just cry when they were chopping off her hair, she continued crying and "showing faces" for the next few days coz she was simply upset.....geez!!

You guys might just kill me for the reason i'm giving for what these 2 girls share in common but well, I did say the similarities they shared, didn't I? :p

1) They both would most probably have a shot at being in the Top 3, IMHO

2) They both left at the early stage of the show for personal reasons.

3) Ironically, both left the show in Episode 5

Jean still being a student studying pharmacy, had to leave the show because I her parents would have disapproved her decision to take on modelling as her career when she could have a more stable job and income as a pharmacist. Also, the school that she is enrolled with apparently also disappoved of its students joining a competition of this sort. Not forgetting, she also admitted that she always had thought that a model's life is a easy and glamorous. But after a few weeks of workshops and photoshoots, she realizes that there's a lot of effort and how tiring a modelling career could be.

As for Rajvin, it's really a pity that she's actually suffering from back problems at such a young age!! She's like only in her mid-twenties if I'm not mistaken. Although it was a really tough decision for her, I guess her family is more worried for her health than her giving her shot at winning this competition. You could tell that she really did not want to leave the show when her sister persuaded her to go for a check-up and leave the show as with Rajvin still "trying" to win the "coveted" title would only prolong the checkup and her condition might just worsen over that few weeks.

But in all honesty, had these girls had stayed on, they prolly would have made it to the top 6 at least....

Shasya and Eyna

Today, i'm gonna continue with the comparison of the girls from Season 1 and Season 2. So, last i checked, I did a post on Acha and Cindy. Today, let's get down to Shasya and Eyna.

Season 1 - Eyna

Season 2 - Shasya

The similarities:-

1) They both have got sharp features, which something people always look out for in a model, I guess

2) Although they look like the shy and quiet types, but when it comes to photoshoots..... "BOOM!!" in your face!! The poses they come up with are spot-on and the photos turn out to be just awesome!!

Unfortunately, I just can't put a finger onto as why I'm not a fan of Shasya. She doesn't have much of an opinion (then again, language could be the problem) and eeewwwww....did you see her picking her toenails while she was talking over the phone? I mean, girl, I'm sure that you are well aware that the camera is pointing at you right? Tsk tsk tsk....

Having said that, I guess she still may have a shot as being one of the few that would stay for quite a while as she(Shasya) is a part-time model. I guess that explains why her poses are spot-on. She already has the experience and knows her angles better than anyone else...

Acha and Cindy?

MDG is back for its 2nd season and I can't help but think that all of them somehow have some sort of similarity from the girls from MDG Season 1.

For today, let's start off with:-

Season 1 - Tey Cindy (if you don't already know by now, Cindy is the winner for Season 1's Malaysian Dreamgirl).

Season 2: Nor Hafsah Bt Mat Nor aka Acha

The similarities:-

1) They both bitched about the other gals in the house to their dads and their dads advising them as to how to handle the situation.

2) They both have problems with their catwalk

3) They both cried over how they did not like the way they had strutted their stuff:-

- Acha didn't like the way she catwalked(Acha) during the catwalk workshop session with Tini and Ethel. Thus leading herself to tears coz she was disappointed with herself.

- Cindy was upset with the way she posed for the Women's Secret lingerie wear because the photographer had to show/pose for her the way he wanted her to. And she was crying because she couldn't do what the photographer wanted.

3) Their hairstyle after the makeover are the same

I really do hope that Acha could make it far into this competition. I believe she has what it takes. It's just that she needs to boost her confidence a little and brush up on her English.
